Speaking at the Kwali Area Council’s flag-off ceremony for the Pai community road construction on Tuesday, Wike stated that his main priority is the country’s capital city’s infrastructure development.

The minister pledged to make sure that developments also occurred in the city’s rural districts, rather than concentrating only on the urban ones.

Wike said, “I want to be clear and let everyone hear me: Ahmed Tinubu did not appoint me as minister to come and sell land here.”

“Infrastructure, infrastructure, infrastructure, and infrastructure are our concerns. Is it urban? Is it a rural location?

Therefore, some people who have the chance to serve as ministers here may be upset and say they love you. They question them, “What happened when you were a minister? Have you visited any rural areas? Have you noticed them? “Are you content now?” he continued.

Wike declared that “if you can even try to do less than 12 months, your money is available” and charged the contractors working on the project to finish it on schedule, most likely ahead of schedule.

The former governor of Rivers State went on to say that meeting the needs of the people, not the political party in power, is what governance is all about. He urged that the people, not those elected to office, should be the primary focus of governance.

“The PDP has nothing to do with governance. “Having the APC has nothing to do with governance,” he said.
