On Tuesday, the actor-turned-politician declared this as Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu commissioned four roads in the state’s Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area.
Elliot, who represents Surulere Constituency and is the Chairman of the House Committee on Works, urged Lagosians to take ownership of the state’s roadways and prohibit articulated vehicles from using them for parking.
The legislator stated, “I recall being chairman of the House Committee on Works and Infrastructure, and I came here with the SA (special adviser) of infrastructure to see the work that had been done in two years.
“We are quite pleased. I’m really excited because we’ve made such great progress.
“Ladies and gentlemen, this road does not have parking places. It is not intended to park containers or articulated trucks; rather, it is intended to allow people to move and benefit.
“Can we please discourage roadside parking? Own your roads. I address all residents: “Own your roads and discourage vehicle parking by the roadside so that people can benefit from democracy.”
The occasion was also attended by Sanwo-Olu’s deputy, Kadri Hamzat; Lagos Assembly Speaker, Mojisola Meranda; traditional rulers, and All Progressives Congress (APC) members.
