According to Naija News, Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, announced this in a statement on Wednesday.
The council meeting, which was originally planned for today, was postponed in remembrance of Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, who died on Tuesday evening.
Prior to his passing on November 5, 2024, General Lagbaja held the position of Chief of Army Staff from June 19, 2023.
In remembrance of the deceased general, President Tinubu also mandated that flags be flown at half-staff across the country for seven days.
President Tinubu sent his deepest sympathies to the Nigerian Armed Forces and the Lagbaja family earlier today.
He honored Lt. Gen. Lagbaja’s important achievements to the country and wished him eternal peace.
