Nwankwo Kanu, a former forward for the Super Eagles, has backed Ademola Lookman as the next best player in Africa.
On Monday, December 16, the 2024 CAF Awards will take place in Marrakech, Morocco.
Along with nine other athletes, including his teammate William Troost-Ekong of the Super Eagles, Lookman is vying for the coveted honor.
Following an outstanding season for both club and country, the winger has been heavily favored to win the award.
The 27-year-old finished in 14th place and was the only African player nominated for the 2024 Ballon d’Or.
Kanu said Brila FM, “Lookman is a very good player, humble, works very hard, and based on the records, I believe he will win.”
“As far as I’m aware, no African player has performed better than him this year.
He placed 14th in the Ballon d’Or, which is a good ranking.
“He has performed admirably for his club and his country.”
