Samson Siasia, the former head coach of the Super Eagles, has made headlines lately.

The former Nigeria international was linked with Nigeria National League, NNL, side, Mighty Jets, the Super Eagles and some clubs in South Africa.

This follows the 57-year-old’s recent completion of a five-year suspension for ethical violations imposed by FIFA, the Federation of International Football Association.

FIFA banned Siasia from all football-related activities for life in 2019 due to accusations of match-fixing.

However, the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) later lowered Siasia’s penalty to a five-year suspension after an appeal.

The former Nantes player is now free to resume playing football after serving out his suspension in August of this year.

Following a protracted break from football, Siasia is hoping to resume his coaching career.

Siasia refused to comment when asked on Monday about rumors that he was connected to South African and Nigerian clubs, as well as his future coaching plans following his FIFA ban.

Siasia claims that he does not currently want the “whole world” to be aware of his future ambitions.

“I should tell you what I’m trying to do,” Siasia remarked. In order to inform the entire world?

He said, “Oga abeg fine, somebody else go follow talk.”
Orode Richard, the coach of Wakanda FC, maintained that Siasia joining a South African team would be a positive move.

After everything he went through, he believes it would be better for Siasia to revitalize his career because he is an excellent coach.

“I believe that coach Samson Siasia’s efforts to revitalize his coaching career in the South African league are a very positive development.

“Compared to the Nigerian football league, the South African league is currently far more established,” Richard stated.

“As a competent coach, I believe it would be better for him to restart his career and revitalize it from the South African league with a bigger prospect tomorrow, which could even lead him back to the Super Eagles of Nigeria,” he said.
