During an operation in Marte Local Government, the Nigerian Air Force claims that its airstrike killed 50 militants, including Bashir Dauda, a senior ISWAP commander.
The precision strikes, which targeted known ISWAP strongholds in the villages of Tumbun Daribiyar, Jubularam, Buluwa, and Tumbu Karfe, were a significant step in the ongoing fight against terrorism in the Northeastern region of Nigeria, according to a statement released Monday night by Air Commodore Olusola F. Akinboyewa, Director, Public Relations and Information, Headquarters, Nigerian Air Force.
“Around 50 terrorists, including a high-ranking ISWAP commander known as Bashir Dauda, were neutralized in the operation,” according to an assessment conducted on the ground, the report stated.
A vital supply line for the terrorists was also cut off when an ISWAP supply depot in the Jubularam enclave was destroyed. This depot included a sizable cache of food and necessities like rice, millet, and beans.
“These effective airstrikes, which targeted logistics and personnel, highlight NAF’s continued dedication to bolstering ground forces and strengthening cooperative efforts to destroy terrorist strongholds in the area,” he stated.
