Dr. Kamoru Ibitoye Yusuf, the Group Managing Director of Kam Holding Limited, has expressed his sorrow over the loss of Sarikin Gobir of Ilorin and Alhaji Ahmed Yusuf Gobir, the Chairman of the Governing Council of the International Aviation College, Ilorin.

He said that Sarikin Gobir left at a time when he was offering the Ilorin Emirate and Kwara State in particular his all, calling the traditional chief’s move unfortunate and agonizing.

In a written statement made available to journalists in Ilorin on Sunday, Dr. Yusuf said that Sarikin Gobir’s departure had left the Ilorin Emirate in deep sadness, given his selfless contributions to mankind and his role as a community leader.

According to the Kam Holding Chief, the dead will be known as a Kwaran who left his mark on history, particularly with regard to his efforts to transform Ilorin Aviation College into a center for the aviation sector’s human and technological resources.

“Considering that the Sarikin Gobir of Ilorin made a substantial contribution to the stability and tranquility of the Ilorin Emirate, his loss at this time is extremely heartbreaking. Alhaji Ahmed Yusuf Gobir is a distinguished traditional chief who has distinguished himself as a communal leader at every turn.

His practicality in the Ilorin Emirate Durbar committee, where he has diligently served since the committee’s formation, will never be forgotten in a hurry. The contributions of the late traditional chief also accounted for the successes recorded in the annual fiesta.

We also know that he did a commendable job in his capacity as the Chairman of the International Aviation College, Ilorin’s Governing Council. His unquenchable desire to change the institution’s course and transform it into a center for human and technical resources for the aviation sector left his mark on history. Dr. Yusuf stated, “He would be greatly missed.”

He expressed his condolences to the Gobir family, the governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), and the emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, on the passing of Sarikin Gobir. He prayed to the Almighty Allah to pardon him for his shortcomings on earth.
