The time that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would start compiling results for Edo State’s governorship election on Saturday has been revealed.
Collation will begin on Sunday at 10 a.m., according to a statement made by the commission’s resident electoral commissioner, Dr. Anugbum Onuoha.
He said, “This is to inform the general public, political stakeholders, and observers that the ongoing Edo State Governors Election results collation will resume today, Sunday, September 22, 2024, at 10:00 am.”
The INEC headquarters in the capital city of Edo, Benin, will host the collation.
The news will ease tensions in the state on the postponement of the official results release.
This comes after data from INEC revealed that, as of the time this report was filed, 98.23% of polling unit results had been uploaded to the organization’s Result Viewing Portal.
