In several operations across the nation, Nigerian Army troops have seized weapons and ammunition, released forty captives, and killed eight terrorists.

The Nigerian Army revealed this on Sunday night in a statement posted on social media.

It added that in a noteworthy development, troops also arrested a well-known arms courier who was discovered to have a sizable cache of ammunition, dealing a serious blow to the spread of weapons by criminal organizations.

According to the report, Nigerian Army soldiers, responding to intelligence, stopped terrorists and, in the course of a gunfight, neutralized a number of them. They also found 303 live rounds of 7.62mm (special) ammunition hidden in a bag.

“The suspect and the car were brought into custody right away, and more inquiries are being conducted to find his accomplices.

“One terrorist was killed in another Kaduna State operation when troops carried out precision strikes in the jungles surrounding the villages of Danmari and Saulawa in the Birnin Gwari Local Government Area.

Two more terrorists were eliminated as a result of further clashes in Kachia Local Government Area’s Ankwa hamlet. Additionally, a locally manufactured gun, eleven rounds of 7.62mm (special) ammunition, and a terrorist motorcycle were found. It stated.

In Borno State, during a confrontation with terrorists escaping in Faayijiwa Fandanari hamlet in Magumeri Local Government Area, forces found two AK-47 rifles, 51 NATO and 51 special 7.62mm rounds, hard narcotics, and other supplies. The terrorists were overwhelmed by the troops’ superior firepower and left the guns and ammunition behind. Three terrorists were neutralized as a consequence of additional operations in the Gwoza Local Government Area, while alert forces acting on reliable information followed and stopped a truck that was allegedly carrying supplies to terrorists at Gubio.
