On the X microblogging site, Lere Olayinka, a media assistant to Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and Jackson Ude, an independent journalist, have persisted in their squabble over claims that Wike blocked access to the Aso Rock Presidential Villa.
Earlier this week, Jackson claimed in a post on his official X Twitter that the FCT Minister was denied entry to the Villa due to intoxication. Jackson asserted that Wike was intoxicated on Saturday when he met the Indian Prime Minister at Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
He claimed that he was informed by an unnamed security guard from the presidential villa that Wike was not allowed in because he was intoxicated.
To set the record straight, Wike’s media assistant refuted the allegation in a statement, stating that President Bola Tinubu had instructed the FCT Minister to receive the Indian Prime Minister.
When Lere posted about Jackson being fined $10,000 by a US court for slander, claiming the journalist is a serial liar, the two started the backlash again on Wednesday.
“A District Court in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania fined serial liar Jackson Ude, @jacksonpbn, $10,000 in the distant USA,” he said. In response, Jackson said, “Lere, if you want to war with me, get ready,” threatening to go to war with the FCT Minister’s aide.
You will lose your job, and I will ruin you and your inebriated Master. I’m not your journalism buddy.
To deal with me, you’ll have to go back to school. You can’t comprehend what you just posted because of your inadequate education. Let’s go there, though.
I suppose you don’t require employment! Lere wrote, “Let the war begin now,” accepting the challenge. You will quickly realize that this time you have chosen to target the wrong customer.
