Zulum claims that the tax reform measure was rejected because it would cause backwardness in the North as well as in the South East, South South, and South West. Problems would also arise for Oyo, Osun, Ekiti, and Ondo; it will only benefit Lagos.”
Given that the northern area accounted for 60% of his votes, he encouraged President Bola Tinubu to review the tax reform laws.
“He should not listen to those who say that the people in the north do not support him; that impression is false,” the governor stated. They want him to revoke the tax reform measures, he stated.
