Segun Balogun Afolorunikan, the Director General of the National Prayer Forum (NPF), made this announcement in Abuja. According to Afolorunikan, “Seeking the Intervention of God in Nigeria’s Affairs” will be the theme of the 2024 national prayer.
According to Afolorunikan, the gathering, which was planned in cooperation with Muslim and Christian leaders, would provide Nigeria new hope and direction as it enters 2025.
“We believe that with God’s wisdom, our leaders and citizens will find the strength to confront our common enemies by the end of this prayer session,” Afolorunikan stated.
For seven days, Muslims will assemble at the National Mosque in Abuja, where 313 people would recite the Qur’an, resulting in 2,191 recitations of the holy book for national stability, according to the NPF director.
“For a week, Christians will gather at the National Ecumenical Center to engage in fervent prayer, with prayer warriors from different denominations concentrating their energies on the challenges facing the country.”
Additionally, he told Daily Trust that “a lot of outreach had been done, including meetings with the Sultan of Sokoto, the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), and leaders from the National Mosque.”
