Barr. Ayuba Usman, the Chairman of the Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission (NASIEC), announced the results on Sunday night at the Commission’s headquarters in the state capital of Lafia.
There were 147 electoral wards and 13 local government districts in the November 2 election. The APC won 140 of the 147 wards and dominated the councillorship seats, securing the chairmanship positions in all 13 local governments.
The Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) won two wards, while the Social Democratic Party (SDP) took up five.

Barr. Usman thanked voters for their commitment to bolstering democracy at the local level and commended the election’s peaceful conduct.
He underlined that the election’s success was due to the active participation of many stakeholders, such as security services and the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), which helped to ensure that the poll was conducted in an orderly manner.
Citing the involvement of 14 political parties, he said the election demonstrated a high degree of trust in the electoral process. He said that the process was further expedited by the use of technology, guaranteeing effectiveness and openness.
The SDP won four councillorship seats in Nasarawa-Eggon and one in Keffi LGA, while the ZLP won two in Doma LGA. Barr. Usman reiterated NASIEC’s dedication to preserving democratic principles and ensuring fair and credible election outcomes.
