A security guard, identified as Amos Kini, has arrested the Lagos State Police Command as a suspect in the abduction of a two-year-old boy in Elemoro area.
In a statement issued on Monday by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, stated that the incident occurred last week and was reported by the mother of the child.
The statement read, “The incident occurred on 21st September, 2025, at about 11:50 pm, when the mother of the child reported at Elemoro Division that her security guard had absconded with her son and mobile phone to an unknown location without her consent.
“The suspect later used the stolen phone to contact the father of the child, demanding a ransom of Five Million Naira (₦5,000,000.00) for his release.”
The PRO explained that, operatives visited and took in the man who stood as the suspects guarantor before empolyment. one Aruna Dauda , for questioning.
She added that the suspect later releaseed the child, but operatives continued their manhunt, determined to bring the perpetrator to justice.
“On 23rd September, 2025, at about 2 pm, operatives of the Tactical Squad (Hyena), acting on credible intelligence, successfully tracked and arrested Amos Kini at his hideout within the Elemoro area.
The police urged parents and guardians to stay vigilant and asked members of the public to report suspicious activity to any of the command’s emergency numbers.
