Reports surfaced that Fubara ordered his supporters to run in the upcoming election under the APP flag, following a recent congress that cemented Wike’s hold on the PDP in Rivers State.
Speaking on Saturday at an event hosted by the Ijaw Peoples Assembly in Port Harcourt, Wike expressed shock at the APP defection of Fubara’s supporters and questioned their allegiance to the PDP.
Imagine that in Rivers, they are thinking about APP, he remarked. Money is not the issue. Money is immobile. Even with all the money in the world, nothing will be possible if there is no capacity.
“Everything you see is the result of those jealous of our development. We have already defeated them multiple times, and we will do so again if the chance arises.
“We haven’t started playing politics yet, but we will when the time comes. Politics is what we do. Remind them to prepare for their party. We’ll impart to them the meaning of politics.
According to Wike, the Ijaw people were not battling him; rather, a small number of ungrateful individuals within the ethnic group were exhibiting such behavior.
According to Wike, some people are using the Rivers issue as an opportunity to profit themselves, and they view the state government as a large market.
However, he stated, “They are not opposing me.” I’m too large. You are unwell if you cannot recognize someone who is larger than you. Together, they are all too small to endure me since I am much bigger.
The state’s petroleum minister, Heineken Lokpobiri, the governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, as well as a number of previous governors and G5 members, including Samuel Ortom of Benue, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu, and Okezie Ikpeazu, joined the FCT minister to the event.
