Victor Boniface, a Nigerian striker, has criticised the sort of bus used by Libyan authorities to pick up the Super Eagles from Al Abaq Airport.

Boniface claimed Libyan authorities dispatched a “Isakaba bus” to pick up the Super Eagles from the airport.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have been stuck at the airport for more than 13 hours since arrival in Libya.

Libyan officials redirected the chartered ValueJet aircraft carrying the Super Eagles to a small airport outside of Benghazi on Sunday night, just as the pilot was completing his approach to the airport.

The Libyan Football Federation did not send a reception personnel or even vehicles to transport the Nigerian squad from the airport to their hotel, which is claimed to be three hours away in Benghazi.

Boniface posted a video of the Iskaba bus on X and stated that no one entered.

The Super Eagles will face Libya on Tuesday after winning the first leg of the African Nations Cup qualifiers 1-0 on Friday.
