They urged the President to heed the growing appeals to release him.

Reading a copy of the letter he jointly signed with the Chairman of the Forum, Elder Okamulata Egbu, he said that Kanu was only seeking the good of his oppressed people, adding that he committed no crime to warrant incarceration.

Madunweiheyah blamed Nigeria’s travails on Kanu’s continued detention, arguing that God is angry with the country over Kanu’s ordeals.

The group maintained that contrary to misconceptions in some quarters, Kanu was not the cause of Nigeria’s problems but part of the solution.

Under the auspices of the Unique Forum of Orthodox Judaism, Jewish clerics have urged President Bola Tinubu to free Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB.

In an open letter to the President, the organization made this request, arguing that Kanu’s release will contribute to the peace and stability of Nigeria, particularly in the South-East, where tensions over his prolonged arrest have been rising.

The IPOB leader is being wrongfully held, claims the group’s head Rosh Nasishemtov Ihe Madunweiheyah, who guided the followers to the late Kanu’s father’s Isiama Afaraukwu palace.

Part of the letter said, “We humbly appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his cabinet to see reasons to release our son and brother Nnamdi Kanu to go and worship the creator of heaven and earth for peace to reign in this great nation.”

The contact was made in response to Kanu’s family’s recent concerns about his deteriorating health and their request that Tinubu let him to get high-quality medical care outside of the Department of State Services, or DSS, Abuja, detention facility.
