Jami’u Abiola, son of Chief Moshood Abiola, the late winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, has been appointed as President Bola Tinubu’s Senior Special Assistant on Linguistics and Foreign Matters.
Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, announced the appointment in a statement on Wednesday.
Imohiosen stated that the appointment will be effective on November 14, 2024.
The provisions of the Certain Political and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances, etc.) Act 2008, as modified, he stated, are relevant here.
Jami’u was the Office of the Vice President’s Special Assistant to the President on Special Duties prior to his appointment.
The appointment has been tasked by President Tinubu to collaborate closely with the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs and apply his extensive knowledge to his new role.
