Dmitry Peskov, a spokesperson for the Kremlin, stated on Tuesday that there was nothing fresh to announce regarding the talks between the US and Ukraine.
Peskov emphasized that there was nothing more to say at this time and that communications between the Russian government and the US administration of President Donald Trump had started at various levels and had been more intense.
When questioned about unverified rumors on X and Telegram that US Middle East ambassador Steve Witkoff would have flown into Moscow, Peskov claimed he was unaware of the situation and that there were no plans to meet with him.
In the meantime, flight tracking services revealed a private plane landing in Moscow from the United States, prompting Russia’s aviation regulator, Rosaviatsia, to release a statement later on Tuesday in response to what it claimed were media inquiries and reports.
The regulator claims that it was a one-time technical flight from Washington to Moscow that had to do with medical humanitarian cooperation.
