Victor Osimhen has stated that he made the decision on his own to switch to Galatasaray, a Turkish powerhouse, in the late summer. The 25-year-old Nigerian international talked about his mental process during a difficult time at Napoli, when he considered staying until January before finally making the decision to leave, in an interview with Turkish media source TRT Spor.
“I had plans to stay there and wait for three or four months and leave in January,” Osimhen stated. “But I think for me it was fair also to stay there because I wouldn’t let anyone decide
Osimhen disclosed that a major factor in his choice to transfer was the persuasiveness of a phone call from Okan Buruk, the manager of Galatasaray. “The Galatasaray coach’s call was very convincing when I got it. He stated his goals and what he hoped to accomplish this season. Osimhen observed, “I could see what he had set for himself as a father, a coach, and a man.”
The former striker for Lille emphasized how much he believed in Galatasaray’s plan and the caliber of the team he was joining. “I think I fit in this plan, and coming to a team with a lot of quality players with great ambition made it easy for me to come,” he said.
Osimhen has already scored two goals at Galatasaray, demonstrating his effectiveness. But because of an injury, he will be out for a few weeks.
