His communications adviser, Sunny Areh, released a sharply worded statement on Tuesday in which Omo-Agege called the piece a “failed hatchet job” done by “an on-the-shelf journalist available for hire.”

The senator denied claims made by online magazine The Will that he was working with Nasir el-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, to create a new political party.

“The publication of The Will on January 12, 2025, has caught our attention,” the message said. In addition to being alarming, the story is also ridiculous.

“Associating his name with the purported political group is a fable with no basis whatsoever, as he led the APC to its best-ever performance in the 2023 general elections in Delta State.”

Omo-Agege reaffirmed his dedication to the APC and outlined the accomplishments of the party under his direction, including winning two of Delta State’s three senate seats.

The senator charged Austyn Ogannah, the publisher of The Will, with a habit of fabricating stories.

Ogannah made up the story that former House of Representatives member Rt. Hon. Joan Onyemaechi had been murdered following her captivity in August 2024. To God’s praise, she emerged healthy and strong. Omo-Agege claimed that Ogannah never expressed regret for his inaccurate report.

The senator claimed that political forces trying to distance themselves from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu were behind the most recent news.

Omo-Agege gave Delta State APC followers his word that he would always be faithful to the party.

Please be advised that Senator Ovie Omo-Agege is still steadfastly loyal to the APC. He will guide Delta State toward real prosperity in 2027 alongside other progressive forces,” the statement continued.

He asked members of the APC to ignore the findings and concentrate on the party’s goal of bringing development to Delta State.

Renewed Hope Under Tinubu Omo-Agege also noted that Nigerians were already benefiting from President Tinubu’s reform agenda.

“The people are attesting to renewed hope as President Tinubu’s agenda for retooling Nigeria’s economy to a productive one is bearing fruit,” he said.
