livestock farmers in Enugu State have been encouraged to use cutting-edge knowledge of artificial insemination procedures.
The advise was given over the weekend, just before the National Animal Production Research Institute in Zamfara State trained livestock producers in the state on the use of contemporary artificial insemination equipment and its processes.
According to Dr. Ifeyinwa Nnajieze, State Project Coordinator for the cattle Productivity and Resilience Support Project, or L-PRESS, the administration is eager to use cattle to diversify the state’s economy.
We wish to revive, rejuvenate, and restructure the livestock industry, which has long been ignored in Enugu State. Among others, we have professors, veterinary professionals, Ministry of Agriculture civil officers, and small and large animal farmers.
These were all chosen to guarantee sustainability, knowledge transfer, and the preservation of records for further research. The training will increase livestock productivity in the state, according to L-PRES Enugu State’s Value Chain Officer, Mrs. Mamel-Akpata Chinenyenwa, who also stated that the state’s economy will expand if the skills learned were fully used.
The goal of the program is to provide livestock producers in Enugu with the skills they need to handle artificial insemination. Along with encouraging appropriate use and upkeep, they will also deepen their comprehension of reproductive biology and breeding management concepts.
