The Kogi state independent electoral commission has revealed that the All Progressive Congress won 21 local government chairmanship seats and 239 councillorship slots in the election held on Saturday.
Mr Mamman Nda-Eri, Chairman of the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC), declared the results in Lokoja, describing the election as peaceful, free, fair, and credible.
A woman was elected as the chairperson of the Ogori-Magongo Local Government.
“The APC did admirably; it won all of the chairmanship and councillor positions, leaving nothing for the other 18 political parties that ran in the election.
“The results at the headquarters were already declared in the various collations centers by the separate Returning Officers.
