The Central African Republic (CAR) and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) have increased military collaboration, promising collective security and mutual defense.

Rameaux-Claude Bireau, Minister of National Defense and Army Reconstruction, recently traveled to Congo with a delegation of Central African military professionals led by Guy Kabambo Muadiamvita, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense and Veterans.

During the meeting, the defense chiefs talked about the changing security situation along their shared borders, contributions to collective defense, and regional peace and stability. Rameaux-Claude Bireau stressed the importance of strong political commitment and large defense investments to secure transboundary security and regional peace.

The two countries agreed to develop a cooperative plan for defending their shared borders and strengthening military cooperation for mutual defense. They also committed to prevent destabilization in their respective areas, reaffirming their commitment to regional stability.

To strengthen this cooperation, a joint commission of defense specialists from both countries was formed to negotiate a defense cooperation agreement. This agreement will promote diplomatic and political peace between the two countries, representing a significant step toward regional stability and security.
