According to several accounts, terrorists from the Islamic State West Africa Province, or ISWAP, carried out a fatal attack on Geidam town in Yobe State early on Saturday morning. One civilian was killed and extensive damage was caused.

At approximately three in the morning, the rebels invaded the town, terrorizing the locals with random explosions.

Zagazola Makama, an expert in counterinsurgency, received intelligence reports stating that the terrorists set two vehicles owned by Nigerian Customs agents on fire and destroyed property.

According to reports, the militants set fire to Khalifah Ayiloma’s cemetery in Kolori Ward, desecrating it.

Additionally, they broke into the house of Dahiru Muhammadu, a 60-year-old night watchman who lives close to Geidam Polytechnic. Muhammadu was taken to Geidam Specialist Hospital after receiving a gunshot wound to the neck, where he was later declared deceased.
