The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, was notified of the development in a letter dated January 16, 2025.

Tunji Alausa, the Minister of Education, claims that the federal government authorized the institution’s founding and gave it President Bola Tinubu’s name.

According to Alausa, Bola Ahmed Tinubu Polytechnic, Gwarinpa, was founded to support entrepreneurial, vocational, and technological training in accordance with the country’s educational policy.

According to the minister, a technical team from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and the Federal Ministry of Education will be visiting the sites and examining the suggested places. The approval will be granted based on the team’s reports.

Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, the chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), has praised Tinubu for granting permission for the Polytechnic’s creation.

Maikalangu also thanked the FCT Minister for helping to realize the aspirations of FCT citizens in a statement issued by Kingsley Madaki, his Special Assistant on Media and Public Affairs.

According to Maikalangu, the Federal Polytechnic’s opening in Gwarinpa was a dream come true and will advance the lives of those living in the Federal Capital Territory.
