Chiamaka Okwuchukwu of the Falconets has been nominated for the Women’s World Best Youth Player award from the 2024 International Federation of Football History & Statistics, or IFFHS.

Okwuchukwu is one of 30 young athletes who have been nominated for the esteemed honor.

At the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia in 2024, the young player was the star of Nigeria.

During the competition, she scored twice in four games for the Falconets.

At the moment, Okwuchukwu is a member of the Rivers Angels, a team in the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL).

Other African players on the shortlist include Monique Ngock of Cameroon and Hapsatou Diallo of Senegal.

Salma Paralluelo, a forward for Barcelona and Spain, took up the honor last year.
