Doyin Okupe, a former director-general of Peter Obi’s 2023 presidential campaign council, has declared that he will never again back the former governor of Anambra State.
Recently, Okupe claimed that people who were harassing and mistreating him because he backed President Bola Tinubu’s proposal for economic recovery were uninformed.
This was stated by Okupe, a former presidential spokesperson, during his appearance on Channels Television’s “Politics Today” on Monday.
Okupe supported Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, before the general election in 2023.
“I am unable to back Peter Obi once more. We decided that a Southern president had to be elected, which is why.
“If a Southern president is to emerge, which zone must it emerge from?” Baba Adebanjo called me and asked. I added, And I said South East. Let’s support them.
“And all eminent Yoruba people supported you, why now bring us down publicly? It’s wrong.”
