David Adeleke, better known as Davido, is a well-known Nigerian singer who has asserted that his celebrity status gives him preferential treatment worldwide.
The Afrobeats artist asserted that, with the exception of the US and the UK, he is invited to presidential banquets in every nation he visits.
In a recent interview with Kiss Fresh London, Davido stated that the president of the World Bank, presidents of major countries, and other influential individuals are among his fan base.
“The president invites us to supper in every country we visit, with the exception of the United States and London, United Kingdom.
“It’s stunning to observe. “I mean, it shows how well Nigeria is doing globally in terms of music and cultural impacts that people are welcoming me like the president in other countries when I leave my country, Nigeria,” he remarked.
Despite earning more money in the West, Davido claimed that he is most respected in Africa, which is why he prefers his African tours over those in Europe and America.
He claimed that when YG Marley, his Jamaican counterpart, recently traveled to Nigeria to film the music video for their joint single “Awuke,” he was astounded by the amount of affection his fans had for him.
