Moses Simon and Samuel Chukwueze were among the first players to arrive at the Super Eagles’ camp in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, on Monday.
They joined six other early arrivals, including Amas Obasogie, Raphael Onyedika, Frank Onyeka, Bruno Onyemaechi, Gabriel Osho, and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.
The Super Eagles’ media officer confirmed the arrivals to NAN, adding that more players were anticipated to arrive on Tuesday.
The invited squad includes captain William Ekong, Ademola Lookman, reigning Africa Player of the Year Victor Osimhen, and 19 other players.
On Thursday, the team will play Benin Republic at the Stade Felix-Houphouet-Boigny.
On Monday, they will play Rwanda at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo. Currently leading Group D, the Super Eagles only need to defeat Benin by one point to guarantee their spot in the championship game.
With seven goals scored and none given up, the Super Eagles are in a solid position after defeating Libya in their last game.
It appears that the squad will continue to lead the group; only Rwanda has the potential to close the gap.
