Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the former interior minister, has been suspended by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Osun State Chapter for suspected anti-party activities.

The Osun APC accused Aregbesola of causing rifts within the party by forming a splinter section in a resolution sent to National Chairman Dr. Umar Ganduje and presented to the APC National Secretariat.

According to the state party chapter, the action had weakened unity and cohesion, particularly at a pivotal juncture in Osun politics.

According to the party, internal differences have been exacerbated by Aregbesola’s actions. The development has not yet received a response from Aregbesola’s team.
