The 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Emblem and Appeal Fund was established by President Bola Tinubu.
He used the occasion to praise the Armed Forces for their duty as the nation’s first line of defence at the brief ceremony on Tuesday in the State House’s Council Chambers.
In particular, the President emphasised the military’s contributions to the fight against all national security challenges.
Tinubu asserts that without security, it is impossible to advance peace and prosperity; for this reason, the military’s patriotic dedication to Nigeria’s unity, stability, and advancement is still priceless.
George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, promised a N500 million payment on behalf of government officials in recognition of the sacrifices made by fallen heroes for national security.
On behalf of the National Assembly, Senate President Godswill Akpabio donated N200 million.
Additionally, on behalf of the service chiefs and Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, CDS Christopher Musa, Chief Defence of Staff, declared a N50 million donation.
