Following Trump’s speech announcing his electoral victory, Barack Obama posted a message that was pinned to his X handle.

Obama backed Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic contender.

“Counting every ballot in 2020 took many days, and, likely, we won’t know the result tonight either. As you speak up today, please have the following points in mind:

“Today, thousands of election workers are putting in a lot of effort across. Show them respect. Give them thanks.

“Always verify your sources before sharing anything.

“Give the process time to finish. “Counting every ballot takes time,” Obama wrote.

In the meanwhile, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, European Union President Ursula Von Der Leyen, and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have  joined other world leaders to congratulate Trump.

“My sincere congratulations to my friend Donald Trump on your historic election victory,” stated Modi in his letter. I’m excited to work with you again to further develop the India-US Comprehensive Global and Strategic Partnership as you build on the achievements of your previous term.

“Let’s work together to improve the lives of our people and to advance world peace, stability, and prosperity.”

Scholz, the chancellor of Germany, declared that he was prepared to collaborate with Trump. “I’d want to congratulate Donald Trump on winning the US presidency. For many years, the United States and Germany have been effectively collaborating to advance freedom and prosperity on both sides of the Atlantic. For the benefit of our countrymen, we shall keep doing this,” Scholz stated.

EU President Leyen said, “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Donald J. Trump.

“The US and the EU are not merely allies. Our people, who number 800 million, are united in a genuine relationship.

“So let’s collaborate on a robust transatlantic agenda that continues to meet their needs.”
