On his first day in office, President Trump issued over 200 proclamations, memoranda, and executive acts.

The majority of former President Joe Biden’s policies were reversed by Trump’s executive actions.

The 47th President of the United States denounced what he called a violation of the law in the executive order titled “Restoring the Death Penalty and Protecting Public Safety.”

He said, “The United States has a policy of ensuring that the laws that authorize the death penalty are upheld and faithfully carried out, and to combat the politicians and judges who undermine the law by obstructing and preventing the execution of capital sentences.”

The Attorney General shall seek the death sentence for any offenses committed by a terrorist, according to the new Executive order posted on the White House website.

“The Attorney General shall pursue Federal jurisdiction and seek the death sentence regardless of other factors for every federal capital crime involving the following, in addition to seeking the death penalty where possible and consistent with applicable law:

“The killing of an officer of the law; or

“A capital offense committed by a foreign national who is not authorized to be here.”

Trump said that the death penalty was still a necessary tool for punishing and discouraging horrible acts.

It went on to say: “The death penalty is a vital instrument for punishing and discouraging those who would carry out the most horrific crimes and acts of deadly violence against Americans. Our cities, states, and nation have consistently depended on the death penalty as the only appropriate punishment for the most heinous crimes and as the ultimate deterrent since before, during, and after the United States was founded. Our forefathers were well aware that the only way to address such injustice and restore justice is through the death penalty. The death penalty is still widely supported by the public for these and other reasons.
