In a joint operation with the Joint Security Task Force Operation Safe Haven, members of the Nigerian Army’s Three Division retrieved a range of firearms and ammunition, including motorbikes and other dangerous weaponry, from the suspects.
Recognizes that these intelligence-driven actions, which led to the arrests and the recovery of various types of weapons and ammunition, are a component of continuous efforts to protect people and property in the Three Division’s and Operation Safe Haven’s operational areas.
The Joint Security Task Force’s information department said that on November 17, 2024, officers carried out a quick operation in Kwanan Fulani, which is in Plateau State’s Jos South Local Government Area, where they captured a notorious gunrunner who was delivering weapons and ammunition to Farin Lamba in the same area.
One fake rifle, one AK-47 magazine, fifteen 7.62 mm (special) bullets, one dagger, and one motorcycle were found on the suspect during the operation. The statement stated that the suspect is currently being held while providing helpful confessions to support future efforts to capture the offenders’ accomplices.
Security personnel at the same Kwanan Fulani stopped a second set of four gunrunners only two hours later that day.
One AK-47 rifle, one fake AK-47 rifle, one 7.62 mm (special) bullet, three motorcycles, and one jack knife were found during a search of the culprits. Security services are holding the detained suspects and recovered objects for questioning,” the statement continued.
In line with its operational responsibilities, the joint security task force reiterated its commitment to protecting people and property inside the defined operations area.
In order to help eradicate criminal elements from the area, it called on the people to continuously supply security officials with timely intelligence.
