He claimed that these goals can be met by initiatives such as increasing electricity access, improving clean cooking solutions for people, and growing renewable energy to 50% of the energy mix, among others.

During the Mission 300 Africa Energy Summit in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, Nigeria’s President made the commitment.

During the meeting, which was attended by other African leaders, the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations, heads of international finance institutions, and other stakeholders, President Tinubu urged all partners to work together to ensure that every Nigerian has access to affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy.

“I joined other African leaders, the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations, Heads of International Finance Institutions, and other energy stakeholders in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, for the Mission 300 Africa Energy Summit.

“We are dedicated to developing and accelerating universal energy access for Nigerians by 2030. This will include expanding power availability, improving clean cooking solutions for 227 million people, and raising renewable energy to 50% of the energy mix, among other things.

“I urge partners to join us in providing inexpensive, dependable, and sustainable energy to all Nigerians.

“Together, we will power a brighter, greener future,” Tinubu stated in a message posted to his X account on Tuesday.
