Two freshly hired officials in the State House media and communications team have had their roles re-designated by President Bola Tinubu in an effort to improve the effectiveness of the government’s communication apparatus.

This was revealed in a statement by Bayo Onanuga, the president’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.

According to Onanuga, Sunday Dare, who was previously the Special Adviser on Public Communication and National Orientation, is now the Special Adviser, Media and Public Communications as a result of the reorganization.

Daniel Bwala, who was appointed Special Adviser, Media and Public Communication last week, is now Special Adviser Policy Communication, according to Onanuga.

These positions, in addition to the current position of Special Adviser, Information and Strategy, highlight the fact that the Presidency does not have a single spokesperson, the statement says.

Rather, the three Special Advisers will work together as government spokespersons.

“This strategy seeks to guarantee that government policies, decisions, and engagements are communicated in an efficient and consistent manner.”
