Oluwaseyitan Aletile, commonly known as Seyi Law, a Nigerian actor and comedian, has applauded President Bola Tinubu for eliminating fuel subsidies.

Although the removal has caused difficulty for many, Seyi Law believes it would ultimately benefit Nigerians.

He highlighted that the fuel subsidy should have been removed much sooner. He stated that if it had been eliminated in 2012, during Goodluck Jonathan’s presidency, when the erstwhile opposition party led by Tinubu fought against it, Nigerians would have already been free of that load.

“The fuel subsidy should have been eliminated long ago. If it had happened in 2012, we would have gone through the pain and been healed by now,” he remarked.

“In 2012, I was the sole celebrity who went on stage to speak out against the anti-fuel subsidy movement. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala stated that the nation could not afford to pay salaries. “We were borrowing to pay salaries.”
