Less than twenty-four hours after the failure on Monday, Nigeria’s electricity grid failed once more on Tuesday.

The most recent breakdown happened Tuesday at approximately 9:17 a.m., causing another blackout in several areas of the nation.

In an X post verifying the system failure, Eko Electricity Distribution Company stated, “Dear Valued Customer, Please be advised that our network’s power supply was cut off due to a system failure that occurred at 09:17.

“We are presently collaborating with our partners in the hopes of a prompt grid restoration. As soon as the power supply is restored, we’ll keep you informed.

In less than twenty-four hours, this is the second grid meltdown.

Electricity transmission on the grid decreased to 0.00 megawatt by 7 p.m. on Monday, indicating that no electricity was being transmitted from electricity generation stations to the 11 electricity distribution companies in the nation, according to a check on the website of the Independent Service Operator, an independent division of the Transmission Company of Nigeria that keeps track of the transfer of electricity on the power grid.

Around 6 p.m., the 3,566 megawatts dropped.
