On his 70th birthday, Pastor Tunde Bakare was praised as a “living legend” by former President Muhammadu Buhari and former Senate President Bukola Saraki for his important contributions to social justice and democracy in Nigeria.

Bakare, his former running mate in the 2011 presidential contest, was characterised as a national asset by Buhari in his speech. “Dr. Bakare is a brave, honest, and intelligent man. His shift from a prosperous legal business to a devoted pastor is indicative of his commitment to democratic principles and nation-building.

“I hope he lives a long life and sees his dream of a fair Nigeria come true,” Buhari remarked. Saraki, on the other hand, praised Bakare’s faith, vision, and leadership.

He regarded the pastor as an unwavering supporter of justice and constructive change, both in Nigeria and around the world. “Happy Pastor Bakare’s 70th birthday.

On X (previously Twitter), Saraki wrote, “May the Almighty continue to bless him with strength, grace, and longevity as he continues his impactful work.”

Through his work at Citadel Global Community Church (CGCC) and his support of justice and honesty, Bakare has demonstrated an unshakeable commitment to improving society, which has been commended by both leaders.
