Shortly before the weekly State Executive Council meeting began, the governor and his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, welcomed the speaker and other key House officials.

Last Monday, Meranda took over as Speaker after House members ousted her predecessor, Mudashiru Obasa, due to accusations of financial mismanagement and misconduct.

During her first session on Friday, Meranda established a seven-member Selection Committee and new leadership.

Sanwo-Olu accompanied the speaker and her team to the Council Chamber during the courtesy visit to his office in Alausa, Ikeja, where the speaker and executive members made a commitment to maintain a positive working relationship.

The Speaker, her primary officials, and Executive Council members reaffirmed their commitment to upholding a cordial working relationship during the courtesy visit.

Lagos will continue to be a shining example of good administration because to the alignment of the legislative and executive branches. We’ll build on prior achievements and put in endless effort to bring about revolutionary change in every industry. We will keep working together to put policies and initiatives into action that fulfill our Greater Lagos vision,” Sanwo-Olu said on X.com.
