Austin Tam-George, a former Rivers State commissioner for information, has expressed dissatisfaction with Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike for allegedly causing instability in the state.

The former commissioner who served under Wike’s administration, said on Monday when he appeared on Channels Television’s program, The Morning Brief.

He expressed disappointment with Wike’s conduct and accused his former employer of being the one directing the state’s never-ending political crises.

“I find the minister’s actions to be quite disappointing. It is him who is arranging this. It is he who has proposed a plan to topple the government.

“I am quite disappointed in the minister because I served as the information commissioner in the last administration. He remarked, “I expected him to, you know, concentrate on his mandate.

Tam-George asked the outgoing governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, to concentrate on his new role as the minister of the Federal Capital Territory and let her get on with her job.

“In the FCT, he has a well-defined administrative mandate. FCT public schools rank among the worst in Nigeria.

“He’s got a lot on his plate to get things done.” He’s not doing that, though. The former commissioner said, “Instead, he’s concentrating on how to destabilize River State, and obviously, Rivers people are going to resist him every time.”
