Ola Olukoyode, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has been invited by the House of Representatives to take part in the inquiry into the N15 billion bribery claims.
This follows the Joint House Committee’s decision to investigate allegations of bribery concerning the EFCC.
The committee asked all personnel connected to the accusation, including the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Correctional Service and the Chairman of the EFCC, to appear on Monday, September 30, in a letter dated September 27, 2024.
The Nigeria Correctional Service and the anti-graft agency were accused of bribery following a widely shared phone chat on social media featuring transvestite Idris Okuneye, who was convicted earlier this year for misusing naira.
According to the popular voice chat, Bobrisky stayed in a VIP facility rather than a prison cell by paying the EFCC N15 million to get the money laundering accusations against him dropped.
Bobrisky and Martins Otse, a social media star who posted the audio recording and goes by the handle Very Dark Man, are also invited by the House Committee.
