This was said by President Tinubu in Paris, France, during a collaboration session with Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google.

The President clarified that the cooperation would concentrate on improving scalable cloud infrastructure, giving Nigeria’s workforce future-ready skills, encouraging AI innovation and research, and accelerating cloud adoption in a message posted on his X account.

Additionally, the collaboration would strengthen Nigeria’s position as a center for innovation and the transition to AI in the global IT scene.

“I enjoyed having important conversations with you in Paris about increasing Nigeria’s role in digital innovation and artificial intelligence (AI), Pichai Sundar.

“We are also looking into partnership opportunities with Google, which will concentrate on five main areas: improving scalable cloud infrastructure, giving our workforce the skills they need for the future, encouraging AI research and innovation, accelerating cloud adoption, and enhancing Nigeria’s position as a global hub for innovation and AI transition,” he told the audience.

In addition, President Tinubu emphasized Nigeria’s achievements in the field of artificial intelligence and promised the backing of his administration to guarantee that the collaboration met the objectives of economic diversification via innovation, digitization, and industrialization.

NITDA will lead the implementation, with strategic oversight coming from the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy.

“This is just the beginning of an exciting journey—Nigeria is poised to take the lead in AI and technology!” Tinubu went on.
