With the beginning of the “One Gabonese, One Taxi” program, 417 taxis have been given to Gabonese residents by Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, the country’s transitional president.

This program intends to play a significant part in the nation’s economic recovery, promote youth entrepreneurship, and modernize the urban transportation industry.

The program is a component of the government’s initiatives to enhance citizen quality of life and encourage economic growth. The government wants to encourage entrepreneurship and job opportunities, especially for young people, by offering taxis to Gabonese citizens.

Additionally, it is anticipated that this program would improve and modernize the nation’s transportation system. As demonstrated by the recent collaboration between the government and the World Bank to support the Digital Gabon Project, the program is in line with the government’s objectives of expediting digital transformation and fostering economic development in Gabon.
