The 34-year-old Frenchman, one of three French nationals jailed in Iran since October 2022, was identified for the first time on Monday as Olivier Grondeau.

Previously, French officials had not disclosed any information about Grondeau’s case and he had only been identified by his first name.

Grondeau cautioned that he and the other two captives were “exhausted” in an audio clip that was broadcast on France Inter on Monday.
