From Wednesday through Friday, there will be dust haze and sunshine throughout the nation, according to the Nigerian Meteorological Agency, or NiMet.
The northern area was expected to have moderate dust haze on Wednesday, with horizontal visibility of 2 to 5 kilometers over Zamfara, Katsina, Kano, Sokoto, Kebbi, Jigawa, and Kaduna, according to NiMet’s weather outlook, which was announced in Abuja on Tuesday.
During the predicted period, the agency anticipated a little dust haze over the remaining areas of the region.
During the forecast period, a small dust haze is anticipated over the North Central area, while in the southern region, sunny skies with cloud patches are anticipated over the coastal and inland towns in the morning, with the exception of Lagos, where mist is anticipated.
Localized thunderstorms with rain are predicted to occur later in the day over portions of the Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom States, according to NiMet.
NiMet reports that during Thursday’s forecast period, a minor dust haze is anticipated across the northern region.During the forecast period, a small dust haze is anticipated over the North Central area, while in the southern region, sunny skies with cloud patches are anticipated over the coastal and inland towns in the morning, with the exception of Lagos, where mist is anticipated.
NiMet reports that during Thursday’s forecast period, a minor dust haze is anticipated across the northern region.
It predicted a slight dust haze over the region during the forecast period in the North Central region.
In the southern region, it said a sunny atmosphere with patches of clouds is expected over the Inland and the coastal cities in the morning hours, with the exception of Bayelsa and Delta where mist is expected.
Then later in the day, there are prospects of localised thunderstorms with slight rains over parts of Lagos, Rivers, Delta, Cross River and Akwa Ibom States.
NiMet further anticipated a sunny atmosphere in the northern region during the forecast period on Friday.
According to the agency, a sunny atmosphere with patches of clouds is expected during the forecast period in the North central region.
In the southern region, a cloudy atmosphere is expected over the inland and the coastal cities in the morning hours.
Later in the day, localised thunderstorms with moderate rain are expected over parts of Edo, Delta, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom States in the afternoon /evening.
The agency advised the public to take necessary precautions as dust particles were in suspension.
It also urged people with Asthmatic health conditions and other respiratory issues to be cautious of the present weather condition.
Similarly, NiMet advised airline operators to get airport-specific weather reports (flight documentation) from NiMet for effective planning.
