The Nigerian Navy reported that during Operation DELTA SANITY, its soldiers found and shut down an illicit refining facility in the Bolo general area of Rivers State. The facility included one cooking tank, one storage tank, and one dug-out pit filled with an undisclosed quantity of stolen crude oil.
In a statement on its social media website, the Navy authorities said it had taken into custody the accused crude oil thieves until investigations were concluded.
It read, “Operation DELTA SANITY: On Saturday, October 5, 2024, Forward Operating Base BONNY found and shut down an illicit refining site in the Bolo general area of Rivers State. The site included one cooking tank, one storage tank, and one dug-out pit filled with an undisclosed quantity of stolen crude oil.”
