Operation DELTA SANITY of the Nigerian Navy has located and shut down a hideout used by crude-oil thieves in the Bayelsa State hamlet of Oboloba.

Additionally, it located and demolished an illicit refinery in Foropa that was loaded with a significant quantity of illegally refined kerosene.

Its verified Facebook page posted a message that said this.

The announcement reads, “Operation DELTA SANITY: Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) SOROH found and deactivated a hideout that harbors Crude-Oil thieves in Oboloba Community, Bayelsa State, on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.”

On the same day, the NNS SOROH patrol team discovered and demolished an illicit refining facility in the Foropa general region of Bayelsa State that was loaded with a significant quantity of unlawfully refined kerosene.

Furthermore, on Friday, November 8, 2024, NNS SOROH and Forward Operating Base FORMOSO arrested two suspects in Igbomotoru, Bayelsa State, who were in possession of two wooden boats loaded with sacks of illegally refined AGO.

Last but not least, a second wooden boat loaded with a significant quantity of stolen crude oil was found and seized in Bayelsa State’s Tubu-Bolo River.
