Cristiano Ronaldo would remain the highest-paid football player in the world with this contract extension.
After leaving Manchester United, the 39-year-old Portuguese football player made headlines when he signed with Al-Nassr in January 2023.
Along with an additional £49 million from off-field endeavors, his original deal included an astounding income of almost £164 million per season for his on-field efforts.
Ronaldo has visited well-known tourist destinations and participated in videos for the nation’s National Day as part of his active promotion of Saudi Arabia. To strengthen his ties to the area, he has also attended many boxing fights in Riyadh as a well-known spectator.
His presence in the Saudi Pro League has had a big impact on the league’s efforts to draw in elite players, which has resulted in the signing of players like N’Golo Kante, Karim Benzema, and Neymar Jr.
Ronaldo’s contract, which is now set to expire at the conclusion of the season, is expected to be extended, according to the Saudi publication “Al Khabar.” He would make about £3.19 million (€3.8 million) a week and £419,800 (€500,000) a day under this new arrangement.
Ronaldo has been extremely productive on the field throughout his stay in Riyadh, tallying 75 goals in 84 games. He may, however, continue to be motivated to stay since he wants to win more important club awards. He has lost two title battles against rivals Al-Ittihad and Al-Hilal, and his only victory to date has come with Al-Nassr in the 2023 Arab Club Championship.
With 37 points apiece, Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad are tied for the top spot in the league, while Al-Nassr is currently in third place.
